I was haven't been in Ottawa in about 15 years. My girls were little and hubby was had an assignment there. It was a great city then, and it sounds like it still is. We missed the skating rink however.

Ottawa is really beautiful. I had some seminars at Ottawa, no day was ever boring. After sitting for so long in a day, a 30 mins walk around Ottawa was a comfort.

I visited Ottawa back in 1996, but all I can remember is the Parliament Hill. I'll pin this for when we get to travel to Canada! Thanks for sharing this!

I've been to a number of places in Canada but never Ottawa. It looks amazing, and I think I would love Byward Market. This would be a good year to visit and celebrate Canada's 150th!

Thanks for this list of ideas - I've recently started aiming to discover World Heritage Sites where I travel, so it's great to know about Rideau Canal :)

There are some really cheap flights to Canada at the moment, so this post has come at a good time! ;) I can't skate, but I'm sure the rink would have some great views. I like the sound of zip lining through Gatineau Park. Thanks for also posting the link of free things to do. That's always a good starting point for our trip planning!

Ottawa looks charming and there are so many things to see and experience. The pick of the lot for me is Rideau Canal . Largest skating rink, wow it must be amazing, no wonder it is a UNESCO heritage site.
